Teacher-Librarian Services

When you’re booking, please use the following codes to book the Teacher-Librarian:

– Book Exchange, can be followed by silent reading, or preceded by a Book Talk, if you like!

Book Talk – I’ll give a 10 minute presentation on our new books, books on a particular theme, or a book of interest that you request, followed by a Book Exchange. Please let me at least 24 hrs in advance if you would like a book talk so I can prepare!

Collab – Collaborate on teaching or planning a lesson. You can come down to the Library, or I can come to you.

Lesson – I’ll present a lesson on research skills, literacy skills or a topic of your choice (meet with me ahead of time to arrange this!) I do have some pre-prepared lessons for particular themes or grade levels.

Orient – Library Learning Commons orientation. Usually booked at the beginning of the year.

R & I / Support – Research and Inquiry support –  I’ll make myself available to co-teach or help support students with whatever they have come down to the Library to do

The library/librarian can be booked for any of the following. If you have an idea not on the list please let me know I am flexible and open to new ideas!

2) Help your students find books or help you find books to read!

3) Help your students build personal reading lists.

4) Do book talks with your class.

5) Help you plan and teach research projects.

6) Teach your students how to locate record and organize information.

7) Teach your students to choose and evaluate internet references.

8) Teach your students how to use all of the cool online databases we have access to. 9) Work with guided reading groups or literature circles.

10) Help you plan units or lessons.

11) Co-teach SMART lessons with you.

12) Help you find resources for you and your students to use for research projects.

13) Pull books for a unit you are doing with your class.

14) Put links on the library website frontpage for you.
